Etymology
The term is a compound word constructed from three Ancient Greek roots:
- ἔνδον (éndon): "inner, internal, within"
- φῡλή (phūlḗ): "tribe, clan, race"
- νόος (nóos / suffix -noia): "mind, thought, state of mind"
The linguistic construction mirrors established psychological and philosophical terms such as paranoia (disturbed mind) or metanoia (transformation of mind).
